Job Description:

SUMMARYThe Production Lead reports to the Production Supervisor. Leads a team(s) of production operators who service braided items and inspects work in process as required. Operates with a high degree of integrity in the performance of duties to foster good working relationships, develop a spirit of teamwork, and accomplish job goals. Uses Lean tools to drive productivity improvements (takt time, cell balancing, visual controls, pull system, one-piece flow, etc.). Follow and adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures, Safety Policies, Company Policies and Procedures, and effectively use time to meet company goals and objectives.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Trains employees in work methods and procedures.
  • Inspects work to ensure adherence to standards and specifications.
  • Ensures that production schedules are met, labor is properly allocated, and that facilities, environment and equipment are adequate to meet customer needs.
  • Requests replacement of tooling and equipment.
  • Promotes and leads continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assists in selecting, training, and developing associates.
  • Assists in determining workforce requirements.
  • Completes paperwork clearly and accurately
  • Assists with first article and/or NPD assemblies as needed as well as other associates to run production orders
  • Demonstrates a high level of creativity; continuously looks for ways to improve and increase quality and efficiency using Carlisle Operating System
  • Interfaces with engineers as required
  • Maintains and posts performance measures for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost requirements in line with the Carlisle Operating System
  • Is familiar with all factory safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Oversees daily cell(s) assembly operation
  • Works with Production Control in developing production schedules
  • Maintains a consistent and high level of efficiency and quality of workmanship in assembly process to ensure that production goals are met with minimal waste of time, effort, and materials. Performs some in-process inspection to reduce the occurrence of errors and the cost of scrap before adding value through subsequent operations.
  • Records quantity, locations, and status of rework and scrap, in accordance with router instructions throughout the assembly process for quality traceability.
  • Ensures continuous production activity is maintained and assists with production problems. Identifies and resolves routine cell assembly problems and refers complex situations to the supervisor for evaluation and resolution.
  • Must be willing to work OT as needed
  • Operate calipers and other testing equipment as needed
  • Handle bare product; move raw materials and finished goods; practice 5S.
  • Calculates the usage of materials to anticipate needs and to maintain continuous cell assembly operations with minimal interruptions and wait time.

          • Two years' experience in related industry and in supervision capacity (preferred).
          • Must have computer skills: MS Office, Excel, etc. as necessary to perform position.
          • High School Diploma. (Preferably)
          • Formal management training such as accredited schools, workshops, seminars (preferred).LANGUAGE SKILLS
            • Requires strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, effectively present information and respond to questions.
            • Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbal to employees of all levels and with outside customers.
            • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.JOB SKILLS
              • Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred
              • Participate in continuous improvement projects and 5S related performance teams.
              • Ability to weigh all available facts and opinion within a reasonable time and come to a conclusion best suited for the customer, the company, and the employee.
              • Ability to communicate calmly in a well thought out response.
              • Writing skills required to complete documents and forms
              • Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.
              • Ability to adapt to schedule changes with a positive attitude. Ability and willingness to work overtime when requested are required.
