Job Description:

Embroidery OperatorEmbroidery operator utilizes embroidery machine(s) to place logos and personalization on garments, hats and name-strips. Operator also performs daily routine maintenance of the machines including applying oil and cleaning so the machines run smoothly. Operators also troubleshoot the machine and escalate issues to management and/or the assigned maintenance technician.WHAT YOU'LL DORead and understand work instruction document (WID) and ensure WID matches garment and identified "Value Added Service" (VAS) to be applied. Must also be able to follow style and color guidelines to create standard garments.Scan embroidery barcode on WID and download image, then verify that the image matches the order descriptionComplete preparatory steps required to begin embroidery process including selecting size and color of thread; placing spools of thread on spindles; inserting bobbins and threading ends through machine guides and components; turning setscrews to regulate machine settings according to garment styles and equipment performance and measuring and marking for center-point placement.Complete finishing steps by removing garment holding devices and taking finished items from machines. Examine and measure finished articles to verify conformance to all quality standards and/or WID instructions.Repair any defective embroidery by picking out mistake and re-running or adding missing stitches and trimming excess backing and thread from the finished product.Able to utilize embroidery hoops to hold fabric taut and place on machine for embroidery.Monitor machine operation to detect problems such as defective stitching, breaks in thread or machine malfunctions. Trouble-shoot small machine problems and performs routine maintenance tasks, ie., replacing needles, cleaning/oiling equipment.Work within established efficiency and quality standards to ensure embroidery work is completed accurately and timely.Cross train and work in other areas of VAS (Value Added Services) department or Retail Store operations as business needs dictate.WHAT YOU BRINGExperience as Embroidery Machine Operator - PreferredAbility to meet established productivity and quality standardsAbility to use U.S. Customary Ruler for making measurementsSuperior hand/eye coordinationAbility to stand for entire shift and walk, bend, push, pull, reach and lift up to 50pounds while practicing proper safety proceduresHand and finger dexterity needed for small movementsMeticulous attention to detailStrong reading comprehension to be able to understand and execute instructions in work related documentsExperience in working with a variety of fabricsAbility to complete tasks accurately and in a timely fashionAbility to evaluate finished product against work instruction and assure work meets required standard.Reliable, responsible and dependable in fulfilling attendance requirements.Ability to be flexible and adaptable to variables in the work environment and job requirements.WHAT TO SEND OUR WAYYour resume, highlighting your education, experience, and skillsWhy you want to be a part of the Galls familyGalls is an Equal Opportunity Employer of people from all walks of life, including persons with disabilities and veterans.
