JOB SUMMARY:

The Department Assistant primary responsibility is to assist the department with day-to-day work functions and support the Vise President of Reimbursement.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provide general administrative and clerical support including mailing, scanning, faxing and copying.
* Responsible for Document Management of medical records by assuring all records are scanned in the patient's electronic medical record
* Responsible for distributing and scanning incoming insurance correspondence to the accurate patient's electronic medical record and reimbursement representative.
* Responsible for accurately data-entering all sub-contracted nursing visits and generating the revenue by confirming corresponding delivery ticket.
* Responsible for verifying electronic claims were successfully received and accepting claims.
* Assist in resolving any department issues.
* Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

* High School Diploma or equivalent education.
* A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a busy office environment.
* Healthcare experience preferred.
* Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills
